Not in the mood

For the past couple of days, I felt something really really not good. I was actually thought of quitting this, blog life. I wasn't sure why or how, I just don't feel like blogging, ever.

There are a couple of factors I'm considering.
1. No more spark between me and my writing skills. (That is why I'm afraid to apply as Content Writer)
2. No inspiration, I guess. (Ugh. Tried finding my light and the things I like, still, nada)
3. Not earning. (I know, earning here is not essential, but with some bloggers earning from this, I am thinking why am I not earning like them. [Duh. Okay. I am fighting with my own thoughts on this matter because this is not really a job compared to my 'part time job'])
4. I want to switch from blogger to wordpress and just combine everything. Still couldn't think of the perfect name for my blog when I merge them in one.
5. I just do not know what to write. (I have a couple more backlogs but I just couldn't start any of those)
6. I'm thinking too much.

I just needed to take this off my chest. Maybe I need a help from my support system. I need to go back to my old self. I dunno. Maybe after posting this, I'd go back after a couple of days/weeks and laugh at myself for feeling this bad vibes. I dunno. Bahala na si Batman

Speaking of Jack Daniel's being No.1, Jack Daniel's together with JB Music and Distillery, hosted The JD Set at Eastwood Central Plaza last August 19. Razorback started the night by rockin' the whole place with their live performance. They were followed by thee Chosen 7: Kelevra, Playphonics, Blue Boy Bites Back, Stories of Now, Mr. Bones and the Boneyard Circus, Jack Versus the Crab, and ParamitaUrbandub finished the whole event with a smashing performance as well.

The Chosen 7 showcased their talents and proved to the crowd that they have what it takes to represent the Philippines at the next Jack Daniel's JD Set Asia and the Pacific regional event in 2012.

Blue Boy Bites Back

Mr. Bones and the Boneyard Circus

Jack Versus the Crab

Kelevra

Paramita

Playphonics

Stories of Now

With this, Jack Daniel's is giving 100% voting powers to fans of these 7 bands to be hailed as Jack's No.1 via voting in both (a) ONLINE - through Facebook and JD's web partners (Odysseylive.netSplinter.com, and AtTheWomb.com); also (b) ON GROUND - on the event itself.

As soon as chosen among the 7 bands, Jack's No.1 will then have the opportunity for an out-of-the-country performance at the next Asia and the Pacific JD Set Event, a one year marketing support from Jack Daniel's and the prestige of being THE FIRST EVER JACK'S NO.1!

My Testimonial on Thee Ultimate Closeup Fire-Freeze

Thank you for patiently reading my loooong post about how GREAT CLOSEUP FIRE-FREEZE is. You have been directed here because you are intrigued on how great this new product is and why I consider this toothpaste can give you THEE ULTIMATE LONG-LASTING FRESH BREATH.
Closeup Fire-Freeze

I have been using Closeup Fire-Freeze toothpaste for a week now and I am so amazed with this product and I couldn't resist making another post about this.

I love eating (even if it doesn't really show on my petite figure) and one of my favorite food is onion rings. I also eat onions served raw on salads. So I guess you know what my breath would smell even if I ate onions hours ago.
photo from http://geniuscook.com/beef-salad-red-onion/
Also, everybody knows that I am a coffee addict. Coffee is not only an odor-causing drink but it can also dehydrate our tongue and mouth which leads to bad breath. (source here.) I also can feel and taste coffee for hours in my mouth, more specifically on my tongue.
Photo from my previous post on MIHCA
I always see to it that I have breath mints in hand, so bad breath wouldn't be a problem. However, I am not satisfied with breath mints so I always carry a toothbrush and my Closeup White Now toothpaste in my kit. But my Closeup White Now toothpaste comes in one size only and I couldn't bring it always. (I wonder why they did not come up with a smaller tube)

Fortunately, Closeup Fire-Freeze is available in local supermarkets, groceries, department stores and selected convenience stores nationwide in 3 affordable tube sizes: 50ml tube at PHP 37.90, 100ml tube at PHP 59.50, and 150ml tube at PHP 86.90. So for backpackers, travellers or like for me, a small 50ml tube can fit into my small kikay kit!

I can stand by their tagline now, "The closer, the better." because I use Closeup Fire-Freeze!

THEE ULTIMATE TOOTHPASTE. EVER.

Closeup has launched its newest innovative product of gel toothpaste - thee new CLOSEUP FIRE-FREEZE.
Thee New Closeup Fire-Freeze
Closeup Fire-Freeze dual gel toothpaste has a unique warm and cooling sensation while brushing your teeth, giving you a satisfaction of THEE ULTIMATE LONG-LASTING FRESH BREATH.

How Closeup Fire-Freeze work
At first, you will feel thee mild yet warm feeling because the red gel thoroughly cleans and kills the bacteria in your mouth. It has Zinc Sulfate, a special active ingredient that kills odor-causing bacteria.

After brushing, you will feel thee cooling effect because the blue gel gives the mouth an intense cooling sensation for long-lasting fresh breath. The blue gel has a state-of-the-art, patented cooling molecule, that will leave you hours and hours and hours of cold feeling in your mouth.
With the two gels combined, and with thee Chemosensory Technology that delivers the two opposite sensations together in one brushing, it will give you THEE ULTIMATE LONG-LASTING FRESH BREATH you have never tried before.

Have you ever felt that bursting sensation while gargling with mouthwash, like Listerine for example? Closeup Fire-Freeze has that special feature too. So you have not only brushed your teeth but also, you will get a fresher breath like you've used any mouthwash! It will also give you whiter teeth compared to other gel-like toothpaste brands. Being a Nuffnang Blogger is the Hottest Thing Since I Started Blogging

I never thought I'd be so passionate in blogging. I never thought blogging can be considered as a career, actually. I have a couple of blogs before but never really put much passion into it compared to what I have now.

After I graduated from college, I was left with my weekend job, leaving my weekdays free. I wanted to find a job and pursue my career but I couldn't find my urge to do that.

Since I usually stay long hours in front of my computer and play facebook games until 4 in the morning, I thought of using my 'writing skills' and my 'free time' and bring back blogging. I think in this way, I am still using my bachelor's degree in broadcasting and utilizing what I have learned since my student days.

I consider myself as a new blogger even though I tried a couple of times to be an active one. Me being invited in some events changed my perspective in this field. I had a clearer view of this kind of 'activity' and considered it as a job opportunity. (I guess I had to thank my weekend job for making my weekdays free so I could attend events and write about it.)

I never knew the ins and outs of blogging until I became part of a Pinoy Blogger Groups. I have learned to fix my site and make it look appetizing to read and to look at. I learned how to put ads and what 'credible' ads to place.

Recently, I had added Nuffnang, Asia-Pacific's First Blog Advertising Community, in my blogs and it did changed me more. I never knew adding this as my advertising medium could be this hot! Aside from the usual generating features of it, I can get to attend events through their invites and contests. I could get to meet new faces, gain not only a network in this field but friends I could consider as my closest.  What more can a new blogger, like me, needed more?

Nuffnang is HOT!

This August, they have partnered with a hot deal with Pizza HutPizza Hut now offers Hot on the Dot Pizza deliveries: 30 minutes AND hot (as indicated by the thermally activated sticker you place on the pizza box upon receiving your pizza) or your pizza is FREE!
Pizza Hut: HOT ON THE DOT.
Combining Nuffnang and Pizza Hut makes blogging and eating a revolutionized experience. A hot blog advertising community plus a hot pizza is a lot hotter deal! So what are you waiting for? Sign up at Nuffnang here and be amazed to what is in stored for you. Alsodial 911-11-11 if you want your pizzas Hot on the Dot!

Who should be blamed?

I have been outside the house for the whole day yesterday and bumped into this video just now.

Christopher Lao, a UP Law student was a victim of uninformed flood along Mother Ignacia Ave. in Quezon City. He tried crossing the flood using his car without knowing the risks, and should i say, how deep the water was.

Was he really a victim here or was he just a plain stupid folk not really thinking?

I saw one facebook fanpage and that was really degrading on the part of this poor guy. I did not liked the page. (Why would I? I do not know the story behind that page)

Anyway, I tried searching for more information about this incident and found some news about it in GMANews plus this video posted in youtube.

In defense to Lao's misfortune, the Dean of UP Law said this in his facbook account. I quote,
"You may be amused by the mistakes or misfortunes of others. But, this does not entitle you to degrade their entire character or make conclusions about their whole person. Christopher Lao does not deserve the treatment he is getting from others in facebook and twitter. And yes, he is from UP College of Law and we are still proud of him."
The question now here is, who should be blamed?

At first watching the video, I wanted to blame him for being so stupid by risking his life in front of national television. Why would someone cross the floods knowing that right in front of you there is one? No body should inform you that there is flood, you should have used common sense and tried re-routing. Also, was this the first time he passed by that street? Didn'tt he know that the part of the street was lower?

However, after watching it a few more times, I realized that the flood (basing on the video) didn't really looked that deep. Also, there were bystanders before the waters but they did not stop Lao's vehicle.

Should anyone blame someone for your own misfortunes? Or does pinpointing others make you the only person to blame? Remember, by pointing a finger on others, your other fingers are pointing back at you.

So with both understanding on this issue, what can you say about this?

Someone get this kid off the streets. . .

. . . and let him be a star!

I was about to take my lunch today when my brother played this video on youtube. I only heard the voice and was intrigued with the person in the video. Much to my surprise, I saw this kid.

The video was taken in Clark, Pampanga, Philippines and was uploaded in youtube.

With 34,005 hits and singing prowess, this kid should get the recognition he needed.

Witnessed the talent of this kid inside clark pampanga.
He sells flutes for a living.
PLEASE READ MORE ON THE DESCRIPTION:

SORRY FOR THE UNSTABLE VIDEO COVERAGE..I had to bounce to the beat!

Please note that the songs in this clip are not owned by me, nor the singer. NO intention to infringe any copyrights.

Please note that the talented Filipino you see in this video is always seen in the grounds of Clark. Notably in pure gold.

I have no way in contacting the kid. I have seen him more than once in Clark whenever I get to visit the place. And he is the ONLY singing fellow over there.

Hopefully someday he would stop selling flutes, and start selling albums. =)

Again..sorry for the bouncing video..I can see your head bop too. =)

Media and Bloggers Night with Mang Inasal

It was a fun filled evening as Mang Inasal held its first ever Media and Bloggers' Night last August 1, at T.E.A.T.R.I.N.O. in Promenade, Greenhills. Mang Inasal held this event to celebrate the launching of its newest campaign: I <3 Mang Inasal, a look back into the reasons why we Filipinos have fallen in love with this brand, and a look forward to bigger things to come.

Mang Inasal invited friends from Media and well-known bloggers to a night of fun events, games, and the launch of the brand's main marketing campaign, two more reasons to love Mang Inasal: the Mang Aawit Project, and the Grand Gadget Giveaway; and the announcement of its 400th store opening on August 5, at the Vmall Carpark in Greenhills. Two lucky audience members also walked away with brand new ASUS Eee Pad Transformers.

The Mang Aawit Project is Mang Inasal's way of enriching the OPM scene. The project aims to aid eight deserving artists music grants and exposure to a wider audience as Mang Inasal shows its support for OPM. The Grand Gadget Giveaway is a promotion which raffles off ASUS Eee Pad Transformers and special I Love Mang Inasal USB Ballers everyday. To join, a customer simply has to purchase 250 pesos worth of product from Mang Inasal and they have a good chance to be a lucky winner for every day of the month of August.

Registration began at 4:30 in the afternoon, followed by an hour of fun exciting events such as the Rock Band Challenge where members of the audience held their own concerts onstage while playing to the music of Rock Band 2, The Beatles, and Guitar Hero. at 6:00pm, the program proper began with a welcome message from Gil P. Abela, General Manager of Mang Inasal; who talked about the history and programs of Mang Inasal. Following him was Enri Ruiz, Marketing Manager who gave a talk about how loving Mang Inasal was the same as loving the Philippines. And lastly, he was joined by Chris Cahilig, program director of the Mang Aawit project as they introduced the eight artists that would become the Mang Inasal Mang Aawits.

The night wrapped up with performances from Myrus, Arnee Hidalgo, 1:43, Kiss Jane, Onse, Sheng Belmonte, Aries Sales and Stephanie Dan. It was one grand party as audience members left the venue with wide smiles, laughs and feeling the love.

After the tour we were all gathered in the Dining area for our lunch prepared by the students of MIHCA.

The buffet area

Our lunch! Yey! Super yummy! :)

And our soft and unforgettable creme brulee Chef Carbonell
made before lunch. He even shared to us how to make this
mouthwatering dessert.

Before we took our lunch, they picked random names of guests to participate in trussing challenge. I really do not want to participate for I was really shy and I know that my nerves will keep me frozen that'll make me panic more. Unfortunately, my name was called first.

We were taught in the butchery lab by the students. I couldn't really grasp the instructions easily because I was too cautious of what I look. (HAHA) Then after a few tries, I was confident I can truss a chicken.

After lunch, the contestants were gathered in front of the guests for the battle.

I was really serious and had a game face! YEAH!
I am the girl third from left.

The challenge was be the fastest to finish and correctly truss a chicken. Surprisingly, I won the contest! (Yipee!)

I had a great time. Seriously speaking.

As a first-timer in a food blogging event, I really did enjoy this event for it was not just about the enjoying the event but also learning from it. I gained more confidence in pursuing my passion for cooking. Cheers to the students, staff and admin of MIHCA!

And oh! I am going to use my trussing skills the next time we will roast a chicken here in our house! :)
